You know, I have read this chapter before but do not remember it being so much about the Holy Spirit until now.
It’s like Thomas said sunday night, I have always been able to “pull” God and Jesus away from the trinity but felt that the Holy Spirit was automatically attached to either/or, which it is, they are 3 in 1, but the Holy Spirit has honestly been the forgotten one.
Romans 8:9-”You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.”
I liked this verse because of the truth that is offered in it. “And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ”- My immediate reaction was….Woah! For real?!! How crazy to think that if you are living a life for Christ but only for Him and not for the Spirit then you really do not belong to Christ. That thought is actually kinda terrifying to me. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I believe in the Holy Spirit just as I believe in Christ and God, but do I live a life through the Spirit like I do through Christ? No, I don’t. Again, I guess I have always assumed that when I was talking to God then the Holy Spirit was included in that conversation.
Just a few thoughts.

Rob and I were reading through Romans on tuesday, and Romans 5-8 struck me. (V8)…Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. We are to operate in the Spirit, there ISN’T A BUNCH OF GREY AREA around this. Either your operating in the spirit or your operating in the flesh and glorifying yourself.
I want to be sure to consider this daily, am I acting in the Holy Spirit of God or am I acting of my own self.
